This is an anthology of all the daily "Ernie"/"Piranha Club" comic strips by Bud Grace which were originally published in 2009 and 2010. The strips are black and white. The collection contains only the daily comic strips, not the Sunday strips.

It's somehow perfectly in tune with this strip's weirdness for a collection to appear of strips from about three-quarters of the way through its run. Actually, though this is listed on Amazon as "Volume 11", it doesn't say that anywhere on the book itself. Oh well, we can still hope that Volumes 1-10 (and/or higher numbers!) are in the works.Bud Grace's art style and his characters, situations, and brand of humor seem to me to have more in common with the old underground comix than with any contemporary strips. Sequences like "Stinky Cheese Week" and "The Adventures of Stinky Stinkbug" showcase some of the author's major thematic concerns. Then there's the carnival sideshow couple of Beardo the bearded lady, and her husband Quacko ... the ... duck ... I ... I don't want to think about that any more. But there's plenty else here, with Grace's cast of dozens: the reprehensible brat Spencer, the hyper-pecunious Uncle Sid, the hapless Arnold, pawn of half of Uncle Sid's schemes (Sid enters Arnold in an ugly dog contest; Sid convinces Arnold to try bull riding, and he draws "Pulverizer"); Bob the Zombie, and many more.
The one odd thing about the book is that a small number of strips are repeated -- to fill out pages or sequences? Or just because they're Bud Grace's favorites? What the heck, I laughed at them again the second or third time.
So -- Bud -- Howzabout a collection of SUNDAYS???

funny book
fast and efficent
The Piranha Club is one of my favorite comic strips and this collection is fantastic! I look forward to many more volumes!
Great book, hopefully this is the first of many more reprint volumes to come.
I found that the Piranha Club members are really funny. i'm sorry that my Phoenix newspaper chose not to continue printing it.
