A very good series. Keeps you glued to the pages so much is going on with Nick and his saved friends. Everyone has been captured but their is so much animosity towards the Psychotic general that the soldiers are saving the townsfolk and anyone else they feel are being unjustly treated with brutality. Many of these soldiers were original soldiers in the military and there training has been to save not torture and maim as the general likes to do. A gripping apocalyptic series from the mind of Stephen Birch and it is an honor that he has written these stories down so that we can read them.
I really like these books but there is one thing that I find really annoying. When a switch to a different scene begins some type of division from the two needs to be inserted. A new chapter would be nice or just a * between the two. I never know who we're talking about.

I have been a daily reader of just about everything over the past 40 years. Retribution is a solid and fun read
OK, all of you know I so love this story line and I am going to give it 5 stars. I read this book and immediately went to and bought book 4, which I am working on reading now. This is one of those series that is a good read and you do not want to it to ever end. Jeff has become an integral character and the little twists are good.
